Man if there was some context for this I’d love it. That’s such a bizarre contraption they’ve built there. Super intrigued.

My guess is maybe a movie or video production set needed an Abrams but they only had what looks to be an MTLB?

I dont think anyone would want to actually go into battle with this.

You’re probably right, except for no one going into battle with something like this. I’ve seen worse. People have gone into battle with BMP turrets mounted to their Toyota truck. This is a little better than that.

I didn’t say no one would go into battle with this, I said no one would want to go into battle with this. Not only is this not an Abrams, when you die in your metal casket you suffer extra embarrassment damage when the enemy finds out it was a fake Abrams and laughs at you.

Its just… These poor MTLBs are so abused. I can’t decide if this is a mockup just to look scary, or if they really did manage to slap a proper turret on one of these poor things and just did some cosmetic work to disguise that it could be taken down with a well-thrown boot

(edit: actually that swung plate is looking pretty thick, I wonder if this is an attempt at spaced armor to protect from AT drones)

(Edit 2: how the fuck fo you get in/out of this monstrosity, do the drivers really have to use the rear hatch?)

This could be a legit tactic. If they can use inflatable decoy tanks and other such subterfuge, why not use whole decoy vehicles to force the enemy to commit resources?
