In isolated communities without any of our tech and science advancement, like the kalahari, it’s common for people to live into old age, so getting into your 80s or something isn’t something new in our society. Statistically, more people are getting into older age, but that doesn’t mean young people were considered old.
It took me some time to finally leave reddit too. I deleted my account, but had this weird feeling of missing something, so I eventually created another. The thing is like a drug, and I believe all the big social media works the same.
When I went back there after stopping for some time, I could realize how terrible some communities can be, how it was making me feel more depressed and angry, and how I was wasting time from my life in there.
Then I deleted it for good, and filled that void with other things, both online and offline. Now I feel much better. One could argue that lemmy is just another social media, but it’s different. it’s not designed to keep us glued to the screen and have drug effects.
doesn’t dir aready do the same as ls?
Digital Video Download
Then maybe just upload them all in a compressed file to archive.org and just post the link?
Don’t let them die. Make a lemmy community for demotivational memes and post them! I, for one, would be curious to browse them and probably spend more time than previously expected while doing that.
Thanks for your kind message. Fear of embarrassment is really something that holds us back
I don’t use self checkout because I’m afraid of messing up something and getting judged by people :(
I guess the main difference in all those activities is when doing something for yourself, as a hobby or relaxing activity, or when doing something as an obligation, or even worse, doing something for others. Even something like drawing can become terrible if you have to stress yourself, follow someone’s orders instead of your own style, and have to do it fast to meet some deadline.
I just get late, don’t care anymore
I went directly from ubuntu to arch, and then fedora. My curve was like a 1st order system, without that confidence overshoot. However, I don’t feel like competent today, neither I have confidence in my skills.
