How is a TikTok screenshot fundamentally different from a screenshot of a tweet or posting an image from instagram? Those are “accepted” definitions of a meme. We get it, you don’t like TikTok because that’s just the “company bad” flavor of the month. You need to adjust your own definition of a meme unless you just want to be the guy at the bottom of a post who was irrationally negative for a wholly arbitrary reason. Most people would agree that the modern usage has strayed far from its original intended definition, and yet the modern usage will ultimately end up defining it. Your definition may have been correct in a certain place at a certain time, but now it’s just meaningless and sticking to your guns only makes you look silly.
