If your calculation made sense we could shoot cotton balls at tanks to blow them up as long as we use enough cotton balls. This is not a video game where we need to whittle down an enemy unit’s HP pool.
That said, I agree with you that any projectile-based drone defense is probably going to have to rely on volume of fire. My objection was merely that BBs aren’t going to do enough (edit: and have terrible ballistics) .
Perhaps a scaled down version of C-RAM would do the trick. Still cheaper than Ukraine’s current method of burning through 35mm Gepard rounds, as effective as it may be.
We not talking about downing jet powered drones here, we talking about Quadcopters with fragile Props, and making them crash next to the target instead of into it.
This thing isnt supposed to have 3km reach.
The specs say 25m and i am confident that that is realistic and more would be also impossible without a runaway in optical recognition requirements and runaway in mechanical complexity.
Key of this system over a Singular turret mounted machine gun is that in can engage multiple Drones from different directions at the same time hence countering a saturation attack that would normaly overwhelm existing active protection systems.
Because they weigh more and are slightly smaller. Meaning more destructive ability. I have actually tried to shoot drones down with Airsoft guns and it only really works with small cheaper models at like 20-30ish feet. BB guns of the similar fps can take em down at like 3x the range
6J x 80 BBs/s x 4 Barrels per target direction = 1920J of energy per second on target.
What good is a Singular high energy bullet if it dosent hit. Dosent take much to break a spinning prop of a drone…
Was ist denn das für eine Milchmädchenrechnung?

I look forward to a demonstration video.
I require initial funding of about 35K for the first prototype, after that unit price could go down to about 6k per unit due to scaling
I just checked and my wallet is in the other coat but maybe a Patreon or GoFundMe might work for you. Good luck! 😁👍
Can we go with copper BBs?
because the look cool?

To stay noncredible we gona make em out of depleted uranium then
