I wonder if the video added anything to the text or if Tiktok is just twitter with mandatory face reveals.

This uses Catblock with a custom image set, but Catblock hasn’t been updated in 6 years, so I don’t know how well it still works. Anyway, if Catblock won’t work, we have to find a blocker that allows for some customization and then fit those “They Live” images in.
(I’m trying to get Catblock to work, but somehow I can’t find any pages that even load ads? I think the pihole is blocking the scripts that would load the ads.)
They added an OS check to a website? What’s next, checking if your desk is sturdy enough to carry the weight of their javascript?
Most of these tiktoks don’t even add anything beyond the text or music, but the format makes it very easy (almost mandatory) for people to add their own head in there. I reaaaally don’t get the appeal, but I didn’t grow up in an era of the internet where putting your face everywhere was normalized.
No one has ever seen a prolific memer and thought they would be fun to hang out with. Unless you like it when someone constantly shoves their phone in your face to show you a meme.
Worse, it was when Twitter banned Trump. This is just like when the Savage John asked to be exiled from the World State but the Controller forces him to engage in society to torture him.

It won’t be as simple as that and the engineers who work on these systems can only think in terms of LLM and text classification, so they’d run your message through a classifier and end the conversation if it returns a “goodbye or thanks” score above 0.8, saving exactly 0 compute power.

Isn’t that Bugs’ sister from Albania?
If you liked every one of those shows, I can guarantee you that you’ll like the rest of B99. Early seasons focus a lot on Jake, Holt and Amy, but later seasons get more variety in leads and storylines. There’s a bunch of very good recurring concepts too, comparable to the Community paintball episodes. The series only gets stronger as it progresses imo.
A society where no one has capital and the only way to get ahead is to provide more labour? And you call them steamed hams despite the fact they’re obviously grilled?
Does that actually change the file, or will it still break when your software can’t handle webp? Because I did that to a webp, but Firefox still shows it’s a webp (in the tab name), probably based on magic byte. I don’t have any viewers that can’t display webp though, and I think they’re all smart enough to go by magic byte.
With a 24h watch, you line up the hour hand with the sun. Because the sun does a full circle in 24h and the hour hand does the same, lining them up will always make 24 point north (on the northern hemisphere).
A compass is still the better option, because the magnetic field also points north in the southern hemisphere and doesn’t have to be recalibrated when you move too far east or west.
You paid $35 for the watch, the delivery or both? Because I saw those Vostok watches with proper 24h faces, which is exactly what I’m looking for, but they’re $140. I guess that’s not super expensive for a watch, but I can get a much nicer 12h watch for that money.
And a double numbered clock face is the simple solution, probably more convenient to read, but also not really a conversation starter :)

Yeah, that’s the method I know.
Divide the angle that is made in half
And that’s how you correct for the 12h face.
I’ve looked for them, but they’re very hard to find and expensive too. You can’t just slap a 24h face on a 12h mechanism, so it’s all custom and produced in low volumes. (I think it’s technically possible to convert a 12h period into 24h by switching out a single gear, but that might ruin your minute hand too? I’m no clock maker.)
How do you find north on a 12h face that wouldn’t work with a 24h face? Because the method I know, requires correcting for the 12h circle.
Sorry mom, that paper towel was rock hard and flaking before the wash too.

Pattern-seeking brain worm: this says a lot about society

Did it do some form of automatic eye detection or did you have to manually select the eyes?
Is that the episode with Cesar Milan? I’m not saying his techniques won’t work for children, but…
