  • Individualism is a dead end, the forces you describe are powerful because society is organized for their benefit. The cruel and psychopathic have avenues to make themselves useful to the ruling class. This is a social construct not an individual virtue or vice.

We can only make changes together. I def think people need to be more individually courageous, but the most common source for courage is social support, not some inherent trait. Some people are oppositional defiant in a way that can make them practical for a time, but without something larger steering circumstances then these individuals end up becoming tyrants all the same.

  • That’s great for them, but what about my chuckles, what about my guffaws, what about my happiness??

Ever since it was taken off the air, I have been putting $30 in pennies up my ass every day, and then spending them. There are so many of my ass pennies in circulation, that surely the executives at comedy central and the creators of battlebots as well as anyone associated with this atrocity and their children, and their children’s children have, by now, handled my ass pennies

  • Outside of academia, new technology is only developed to replace jobs, or to sell commodities. A business always has incentive to do away with workers when a machine can do their job cheaper. And those machines, aren’t designed to make the workers jobs easier. If regulations force safety on companies it can protect workers that way, but only to the bare minimum. If anything, machines have wrecked our bodies and minds. I’m not even convinced that commodity consumption isnt a way to shackle workers to even more machines.
