Many of us are resisting, but there’s so much more in the way of organizing in the US that isn’t a problem in other countries.

I’d love for us to band together like I see France doing. Shut down entire cities just by simply being in the street protesting.

However, it’s a lot harder to get people together on something when half the people who want to help are one paycheck from being homeless and starving or dying from their untreated illness without Healthcare.

It’s harder to organize when the people who want to organize are spread out over 300 million square miles.

It’s harder to organize when historically any left-leaning group is constantly hounded by the Alphabet Squad (fbi/nsa/dhs/etc) and Republicans will abandon their guns before letting performative gasp a black man have one.

Many of us are resisting, but when 1/3 of the population is cheering this shit on, 1/3 can’t be bothered to make up their minds, and the entire system stacked against the remaining 1/3 that will at least vote for a chance at change.

Personally I’m helping network immigrants and their families near me so they have a plan of action if something happens and they need to leave quickly, physically protesting when I can, training firearms with some of the LGBT people I know, and trying to get some of the “on the fence” crowd I know to see reason.

It’s not much, but it’s what I can do without becoming just some dead nut job in the street.

I’d argue that with the government, we are there at face value, but the next level down “behind the lie”.

It’s very much to me felt like they’re saying these things knowing that nobody believes them, like when the stereotypical TV mob boss says something like “I’m broken up about the death of your brother” with a smirk. We all know they’re lying, they know we know they’re lying, and they’re daring us to do something about it.

And also I’d argue that for the MAGAts, they’re already a few pegs below the bottom. I’ve literally been called a terrorist this past week for pointing out Renee good was trying to turn away and leave, and Alex Pretti was unarmed and being beaten while not fighting back when he was executed.

I work with a guy who daily drives his dad’s old Mercedes. While he inherited it, it wasn’t a “project car” or anything, it was a daily driver kept in good repair. Honestly, you put on a new clear coat, detail the interior? It feels no more than a few years old. 500k miles.

Just a guess based on “covid” and “candles”, a ton of people negatively reviewed candles for not smelling good/right/at all, not realizing they had lost their sense of smell from covid at the time.

I know my spouse had the realization our cold was covid because we couldn’t smell the candles we had bought (and smelled) the week before.

I love games that allow me to have a “decoration set” of armor that doesn’t change stats.

To anyone who doesn’t want to watch videos, it’s a reference to “Beauty and The Beast”, specifically the intro where the entire town sings a song containing lines such as "look there she goes that girl is so peculiar, " “yes she’s strange, no question” and “what a puzzle to the rest of us is Belle” (her name) the whole time she is walking around town, well within hearing distance.

I worked as a bike tech for a sporting goods store and replaced most of the store tools with my own. The ones they had were all the cheapest crap from ebay or Amazon or something. One of the wrenches snapped on the first group of bikes we built when the store opened.

A nice tool that feels good in the hand will pay for itself with the comfort it provides.

I had to threaten to sue them because when they fired a bunch of us and barred us from the store, they tried to say those tools belong to them even after sending them the receipts for everything. And informing them where the box of original tools went. And having to call someone still in the store to bring me out the most expensive tool there and they had the audacity to tell me that me taking it would make their jobs harder because there was no replacement for it and if I could just be reasonable they’ll have a replacement in a month so I can come back then.

Just a guess, but when the person you’re replying to says “nestle” they mean “the company of nestle, it’s employees and all their bullshit” rather than “this specific person from the company” like most people…

I doubt many people are under the illusion that major players in any company are directly involved with astroturfing on websites they don’t own.

It’s always going to be a low level employee, possibly even an unpaid intern.
