And everybody trying to get AI to fix the issue

Lots of stuff in the news how things could go wrong and it could be the end of civilization. Because of all the scaremongering however there was enough money to go around to fix all critical systems.

In the end only minor things happened, like a library charging people 100 years of interest on their late fees. It could’ve been a lot worse. Banks charging 100 years of interest were avoided, no infrastructure went down. But the checks and fixes done were needed. Some computers in production systems would just brick themselves when the date was set to 2000.

Then after new year came the comments of people complaining that all the money was spent and nothing happened.

There’s always a new crisis. You’re either not paid enough to care or paid enough to blame someone else.

Can’t have the highs without the lows. Around the equator it’s basically light from 6am to 6pm the entire year.

I usually join the meeting and start asking a lots of questions and clarifications because I don’t know what the stuff is about. After that, the amount of useless meeting requests drops like a rock.

They changed the rules in my country. You can buy a truck but I’ll be taxed like a personal car instead of light cargo, unless you have a business and it’s a company car. That seriously curbed the eagerness to buy one.

Because small creators are basically forced to take chances and be creative to survive with limited budgets while big corpo can take the boring safe bet and the big money attracts people that have a lot of talent for personal marketing and not much else while the number of people involved makes everything a design by committee.

The imperial system makes you a worse shot. Everybody in American stories misses by inches. In European stories, they miss by millimeters. It’s quite the difference: 25 times worse.

Where I went, they also completely recreated the living space around it for the different era. The wallpaper, the furniture, even a soldering iron for the electronics enthousiast, it all matched perfectly. That was a nostalgia trip.

By now it’s a sloperating system full of slopvertisement and slopware

For me it’s usually the Bitcoin guy from the “If Google was a guy” sketches

I replaced the chair with a little clothing rack from Ikea. It still looks the same but now it’s justified.

Or use plotters. These are the same X-Y setup as a 3D printer, where you use a pen instead of an extrusion module. There are a bunch of DIY projects for this. But now you’re talking about minutes per page, not pages per minute.

One ice cream truck around here does hot waffles when the weather is cold.

The companies fail to produce quality goods and services now. Foreign companies take their market despite the tariffs. American companies go bust.

Billionaires can and do use their money to make those restrictions disappear. Just like millionaires used their money to remove the restrictions on getting more money to become billionaires.

And if you do have friends, they can laugh at you when you struggle to get out of the car
