(Not parent commenter) lil hedge makes it harder to argue! And more clear to me about experience/intuition vs. some specific dataset on hand.

Hope this comment doesn’t feel pushy - emphasis on my additions:

The lift is likely on a gimbal. If the wheels on one side of the lift are 1cm higher than the other, that would move the platform at the top by 8cm or something. If both guys are on one side of the platform that could be enough to make the whole thing tilt by another 1cm at the wheels, and so on.

From what I can tell, that lift is not designed to be operated on a plastic barge. So, ostensibly:

That dock is not designed to carry equipment, certainly not an elevated platform, and is not designed to be operated as a barge.

    :)

  • Interesting, one of the recent voicemails I received was a very high-quality voice courtesy one of everyone’s favorite text-to-speech companies (perhaps ElevenLabs)

Wonder if it’s possible they were trying to route on the fly, if they had such a low latency system that they’re able to wait for potential victims to say hello before instantly transferring to a human scammer.

  • Apparently they wouldn’t have been allowed to use that character name, except between writing the script and the studio approving it, the name had already been published by the press. So they had their community reaction to it already known, and the public expected it when the film was to be released.

I do imagine in a world of verifiably ethical, open source, local software, the choice to click five times in one tool or another would be viewed all but equally.

“Ethical” being probably the most important descriptor there. A local open source tool that only siphoned up public domain art from consenting artists? Why would that be a big deal?

Meanwhile if you hear that spirited away guy say he hates AI and then you see his art imitated by it, that’s certainly going to rub many folks the wrong way.
