  • My right monitor will occasionally turn off when the small refrigerator in the room starts its compressor. The right monitor isn’t on battery powered backup like the left one, in an effort to have a bit more time on battery when power really goes out. Took a while for me to figure out the cause, but if I had to troubleshoot that remotely (I do remote IT support for a living) I’d be so confused.

Mch stands for Machinist, a ranged gun class in FF14, and wildfire is an attack from said class that gets stronger the more hits you land during its duration. The max hits is 6, but enough lag and you can only get 5 of them off in the window. The game has a default 2.5 second global cool down between skills, though some gear and some skills can reduce that. In particular for Wildfire, you combine it with a skill that allows 5 hits of itself plus 1 other at 1.5s per cool down, but if you’re adding another .1 to each of those it can add up to miss unless very tight on timing.

Not a game breaker, but if you’re trying to push through your best performance because your group is failing at 1-2% you can’t really help not being mad at it.

Edit: in addition, the frustration isn’t you personally dying in some pvp, but your group of 8 friends you’re also holding back on fights. In addition to lowering damage, deaths can wear down your healers mp(and significantly lower your own damage output) so some tight mechanics can be harder to react, especially if your brain has you move wrong at first. None of these by themselves are terrible, but over the course of 3 hours working at clearing multiple fights it can wear you out and kill your enjoyment.

  • I think over 100 starts making your off-gcds clip on FFXIV, and stuff like getting 6 hits properly for Wildfire on MCH(probably some other stuff too). It’s not unplayable, but it is frustrating and distracting, so can cause an ADHD person like me significant stress when doing content like Savage raids and Ultimates

  • World has blocked some interesting instances, which is why I’m not on it (blocked piracy, which I don’t actively do but I do like seeing their posts, as it often also helps get a tone on some security things, just like privacy).

World isa rather generic instance, so agree with others suggesting exploring a bit.

  • Actually how I paid for groceries. I’ve also already replaced the card via app and it was instantly available for my wallet app too. Gonna try using that more and see how comfortable I am with bringing less or no ccs with me. A few stores I hit still can’t tap, but they are much less now.

As for the front wallet, kinda actually the issue. I haven’t put my wallet in back pocket for years. Most of my pants have a zippable side/leg pocket that I put the wallet in, but today I wore different pants so used front pocket, but using a belt clip on the pocket lip(the main wallet on the inside). I thought I’d feel if it came out but I was wrong.

I still will go for something small, and likely never use the clip part. I’ll check out the brand you mentioned.

  • That’s… part of it, but part of it is just ease of use. In growing up, I had to figure out issues with my computer, and getting games etc working took some work to do. I build a gaming PC for my nephew(under 10, but games a lot mobile and with consoles) and he played a few games on it, but then my sister (a gamer herself) said he couldn’t really get used to keyboard over controller (at which point I reminded her she could just get him a PC controller or use one of the console ones that also work on PC).

He just seems to prefer to use things that are already intuitive, and since my childhood things have gotten much better in that regard for consoles and mobile stuff. You can definitely do it on PC as well, but it often means more accessories, sometimes figuring out issues . I got another sister of mine a controller for pc and it took a bit of effort getting it properly synced for the game she wanted to play. It would show up properly in the OS, but then the game he issues, so we had to switch through modes and such, and sometimes even though one mode may work an update or something may break it.

I like using controllers for some games, and WASD for others, but even though IT is my job and I’m good at fixing things, some games have weird issues with some controllers, especially if they have mode options. All that extra fixing and finding the right settings is just frustrating for some, and with easy to use alternatives they may not bother to learn. I had no choice, just SNES and pc while growing up.
