Used to drink out of the hose all the time growing up in the 80s, but it was usually after playing in the sprinkler or otherwise running the hose for quite awhile. But never really thought twice about it either way.
Now as an adult the hose water always has this super appealing nostalgic smell, but I don’t run it very often, and the idea of whatever might be lurking in that stagnant water just squicks me out too much to take a swig :(

It’s also kind of a dumb meme because relating farm animals to the working class and farmers to the owner class seems to reinforce, rather than challenge, the idea that capitalism is natural. And it implies that the working class is too small-minded to manage the means of production, because of course the idea of a donkey running a farm is absurd.
It honestly smells kinda trollish in that regard.

Yeah, Energy + Money needs to be like your first 5 years out of university, assuming you landed a good job. Most of my adult life has felt like a full money bar, but empty time and energy.
Here’s to getting old I guess, so at least I can have some time again! 🍻
Maybe that explains why the fancy Japanese KitKat flavors never live up to my imagination, despite Asian snacks and candy being generally superior (to my tastes) to similar western items.
Oh well, now I have a good reason to not bother trying them any more.
I think what happened is:
-Initially it was terrible, but it was not imposed on you, so you just ignored it and kept typing as if it weren’t even there, unless you legit could not figure out how to spell a word.
-Then it got better and gave decent suggestions occasionally, so people started integrating into their typing workflow as an assistant to quickly complete common words, or to figure out longer/more complex words.
-Somewhere along the way it began to impose itself on your typing to the point where it was expected that you would accept its suggestions the majority of the time. So even if it’s right 98% of the time, having to manually fight with it every other sentence is a MAJOR hassle
As a simple illustration of the last point, I remember the default behavior was that if you started to backspace an autocorrected word, the system assumed it got it wrong and let you fix it. Now the default behavior is to ignore you and keep autocorrecting until you tap a special key to insist you know what you are doing (at least on my Samsung phone)
Tragically, the funding was cut in Trump’s Schumer’s Big Beautiful Bill.
I’m pretty sure the cancer is half the reason it tasted so good!
