I totally understand where this is coming from but I started on an instance that doesn’t have down votes and moved to a different one because I wanted to see when I’m downvoted. More often than not it is because I was misunderstood and even if not, I want to know where I am. I remember a discussion where I later realized I was heavily downvoted and would have “read the room” better if I knew (time proved me right after all but I digress)

What does “silenced” even mean? They aren’t even hidden or something. I can’t engage with everything. I barely downvote but often just ignore which would fall under silencing as well, wouldn’t it? Or why not?
