It’s a community-rating systems for apps, and you can remove/permanently (even through os updates) disable them through ADB, without actually needing to know anything about ADB because uad comes in a nice GUI package.
I think I removed ~200 apps (most of them invisible, background ads stuff) from my phone. Much better experience.

The one exception here: it’s great to have it installed on your parents’ PC when you’re the one doing the update once in a while when you are around. Rock solid in between, no nagging, and if something did break, easy to roll back.

Last place of employment had develop as the default branch. Actually quite liked it. (There also was a main branch, which only got merged into as part of the release flow, so might as well have called it release, I suppose).
Anyway, IMO it communicated “volatile and subject to change” a lot more clearly than things like “head of main” etc
How good is it with background activities?
About the only thing holding me back is that my phone runs a continuous glucose monitor, constantly connecting with a small sensor in my arm. That all quietly dying in the background would just… not be an option.

Meh. Each service in its isolated VM and subnet. Plus just generally a good firewall setup. Currently hosting ~10 services plubicly, never had any issue.
Did all that, minus the no ssh root login (only key, obviously) plus one failed attempt, fail2ban permaban.

Yeah no thanks. Linting, formatting, LSP integration, Treesitter,… are just kind of essential for programming work. And the advantage of nvim/emacs/… is that you can bend them to your will and preferences.
If you just want to edit some config files, sure, use literally anything. But I need something proper for work, and if I already set all of that up, might as well use it for the config files, too.
