It’s not the guy, it’s the ACOG setup. The movie went out of its way to mount an ACOG so far forward it would be impossible to see through. With just the hardware in the image, the ACOG could have attached straight to the carry handle.

An internet meme isn’t a meme until it is shared around. It becomes something that exists without a single person who can take credit as turning it into a meme. The original creator, even if known, isn’t the person who turned their creation into a meme.
The need to grasp for credit of an internet cultural phenomenon is foreign to me.
Stealing a meme
There’s a concept I’ll never wrap my head around.
Serious hat for a moment, but the idea that Canadians burnt the White House is a misconception. It was British soldiers from units raised outside of Canada, which had been sent over for the war which did that.

That and all the other reasons. The only stick grenades still around in appreciable numbers are anti-armor grenades where the handle has a parachute inside. For normal fragmentation grenades, essentially everyone has moved to non-stick grenades (except the USMC who want to make stick grenades).
Even in WW2, the Germans produced more of the boring looking Model 39 grenades than they did of the iconic and eye catching stick grenades. People notice what they want to notice.
I’m presuming printed cases. Factory made polymer cased ammunition has been proven, so the logical next step is figuring out how to DIY it.
